Homero Radway: Chief Investment Officer

Homero has thirty years of financial experience that intersect at connecting people through stories and connecting communities with capital. Homero engages in creative financing towards racial equality, fiscal justice, ending poverty, gender equality, good health and well-being, caring for our planet, sustainable cities, and a peaceful and just world. His prior financial experience includes; Managing Director at Neighborly, an investment platform focused on democratizing access to capital. Before entering the FinTech industry, Homero worked at JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, T. Rowe Price, Credit Suisse, and Lehman Brothers, in various roles such as portfolio manager, bond trader, analyst, and underwriter. Homero is a graduate of Cornell University and has an MBA from Georgetown University. Homero lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands with his partner Noleca and their three children; Blu, Moxie and Glory. He’s passed the Series 7, 24 and 65 exams.

Ellen Ward Owen: Chief Operating Officer

Ellen has worked in housing and community development finance for over 20 years. She began her career as a banker at SunTrust [now Truist] Bank in Atlanta, GA financing small businesses, affordable housing, historic preservation, and other CRA investments across the Southeast. After seven years in banking, she pursued a graduate degree in urban planning where her research focused on a Housing First approach to families experiencing homelessness. Upon graduation she joined the State of Massachusetts’ Department of Housing and Community Development and led homeless prevention and rehousing programs for four years. She was also part of developing the State’s first Social Impact Bond focused on reducing chronic homelessness. After Governor Patrick’s term she joined Living Cities, a collaborative of 18 of the largest banks and foundations in the US. As a senior investment analyst she structured and underwrote innovative financial investments from Living Cities’ Catalyst Funds before becoming Chief of Staff for seven years. In 2021 she joined Activest as a Senior Strategist and leads strategy and development for Next World Assets. Ellen received a BS in Finance from Wake Forest University and a Master in City Planning from MIT.

Micah Gilmer: Chief Compliance Officer

Dr. Micah Gilmer is an executive team leader who has consistently helped individuals and organizations reach their greatest impact. He led the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation from 2021-2022, launching a renewed focus on racial equity investing at the foundation. He continues to support that transformation as a member of the Investment Committee. Micah is founding board chairman of Activest, a firm using fiscal data to develop new insights for local governments. He is also a co-founder of Frontline Solutions, a management consulting firm that works mostly with non-profit organizations and philanthropy.. Micah has a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University, and completed his undergraduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill. He has passed the Series 65, and is registered with the State of North Carolina as an Investment Advisor Representative.

Napoleon Wallace: Co-Founder

Napoleon Wallace has used his skillset to create transformative change for nearly 20 years. He has launched, led and advised numerous successful impact finance efforts across public, private and nonprofit sectors. He is a co-founder of both Partners in Equity and Activest and Chief Investment Officer of Southern Reconstruction Fund. Previously, he served as the North Carolina Deputy Secretary of Commerce, leading the State’s community investment, workforce development and economic development infrastructure. Prior to his appointment, Napoleon was a social investment officer at Kresge Foundation where he guided impact investments related to health and human services. Napoleon received a BS in Business Administration from North Carolina Central University and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business.

We are partnering with Community Capital Management who will be a consultant to the CRIB Fund providing back office, reconciliation, trade settlement, and support impact reporting. CCM manages approximately $6.8 billion in impact investments based on the belief that a fully integrated impact portfolio can deliver strong financial performance while having positive long-term societal outcomes.
